BIO:
In the short space of a year, DCUP has made a huge name in the world of NuDisco. With a unique brand of club ready, dancefloor heavy disco breaks, power synths and sugar-coated hooks, he's turning up in a wide range of record bags.

After years of the Sydney native honing his skill, all it took was one demo cd for Ajax to signed him up to his Sweat It Out label. There's been no turning back since.r
Since then, the EP dropped, the major labels have come, wallet in hand, looking for DCUP to add his dose of funk fuelled disco to their releases, and everyone wants more. Recently an in house collaboration, "We No Speak Americano" with Yolanda Be Cool, has taken the world by storm, rocking clubs from the UK to Brussels to NYC, whilst in Australia receiving commercial radio play while also topping the tastemakers ARIA Club Chart.

With an alternate techno moniker HiBeams also on the cards, theres no knowing what this man will come out with next, other than its going to get stuck in your head and rock you all night.

We’ve got another great shipment of Naked & Famous Denim in for you! Two new styles of shirts, some restocks of old favs like the classic white dress shirt, and more Frankenstein Denim in too!

Most importantly we’re super excited to introduce a new style of denim, our favourite yet in fact... Flannel Denim. Without any exaggeration whatsoever, these are the most comfortable pair of jeans ever made. They feel like you’re wearing your pyjamas but look like a premium pair of jeans you’d probably pay way too much for from any other brand. Naked & Famous delivers again.

What is Flannel Denim and how do they make it you ask?

Step 1 - Scratch the surface with a giant rake topped with very fine needles. This creates little rips and tears in the fabric surface.

Step 2 - Take a giant brush and brush the fabric in the opposite direction as the scratching. This “raises” the yarns, creating a soft and fluffy texture.

Step 3 - Repeat this process on both the outside and inside of the denim. Feel free to wear these “commando”!

And voila! The most comfy raw japanese denim creation ever.

World Cup has been NUTS! So many upsets! So many triumphs! The Quarter Finals are definitely causing a stir at the shop... and so is the UMBRO World Champions Collection. This truly inspired football range has been designed in collaboration with some of the hottest international artists, each hailing from one of the seven nations that have ever won the tournament:

Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Italy and Uruguay.

We’re all biting our nails in anticipation of the Argentina vs. Germany and Paraguay vs. Spain games on Saturday... And where the HELL did Netherlands come from!!?? It’s too much stress... we’re still shedding tears for Ghana. Looks like Umbro might have to introduce some new pieces into this collection next year!

Naked & Famous Denim has really come a long way in a short period of time, having now become our top selling brand... and with good reason. Whether you’re a Denim Purist or just your Average Joe, no customer can argue with Naked & Famous Denim’s promise of “no washes, no embroidery, no gimmicks… just the best fabric in the world combined with modern fits... special fabrics at a reasonable price”. All fabrics are imported from a prestigious mill in Japan while keeping production home grown, right here in Montreal.

Three Monkeys is proud to have been the very 1st store in the world to have supported this incredible local, now international, Rare and Raw Japanese Denim brand. From it’s early start with just a few pieces in the collection, Naked & Famous Denim has dramatically expanded and innovated on their original concept.

The collection has grown to include much more than just jeans and now offers a variety of accessories and tops for men and women, always focused on premium fabrics and old school production. Designer Brandon Svarc has just totally turned into some kind of mad alchemist at this point, fusing his denim with materials like Kevlar, Cashmere, Stainless Steel, Silk, and much more craziness to come... I don’t even know enough about his madness to describe the unique processes and fabrics he’s developed, we can only hope to capture one of his passionate rants for you on video about he’s cooking up next.

Monday, May 17th - deadline to borrow a monkey and submit your entries. All Monkeys must be returned by 6pm, all entries submitted by midnight.

May 17th-19th - time for you to get your vote on. Tell a friend to tell a friend! The more votes we get the more chances of your favourite taking the title. Got friends who love monkeys doing funny things? Get em to vote too!

May 20th - The big shin-dig! The Most Sensational, Inspirational, Celebrational Photo Exhibit!!! At Three Monkeys (1455 Peel, Les Cours Mont Royal)

Come on down and celebrate some of the best and/or funniest photo entries, people have really submitted some great stuff! We’ll be announcing the winners and giving out some prizes... There’ll be music, cocktails, a freakin' shooting range (in case you never got to shoot a monkey), and much more.

Rethinking MTL Summer Fashion

Thanks to Global Warming and the impending Apocalypse, we here at Three Monkeys are rethinking what Montreal Summer Fashion should be all about.

When on Saturday you’re out BBQ’ing with your friends and enjoying the sun, on Tuesday you’re snowshoeing to work or prepping your dogsled, and on Thursday you’re expecting a high of 29º and have a pool party planned... well, knowing what to wear can be problematic.

We say be ready for anything.

It’s snowing? No prob... zip that Parajumper up tight, pull your tuque down and get that cozy fur hood on. Sun is blazing? Just take that puppy right off and dive in the pool in your new Insight Bikini!

No problemo!
